    Pine pellets in snake room?
    I'm starting an asf colony just for my picky eaters and I'm placing my lab tubs inside my snake room. I've read that asfs prefer warm temps that's why I'm not putting them in the basement. Will the pine pellet bedding for the asfs be harmful to my BPs since they are in the same room?

    Will my rat feeders prefer asfs since they can smell it all the time? I don't want my rat eaters shifting to asfs since I only have two picky eaters at the moment.

    I don't see why it would be a problem in the same room, I don't think it'll bother the snakes :)

    My rat rack is 1/2 step away from the snake racks, and the rats are on pine pellets. No problem there.

    When I kept ASF's, in the same room as the snakes, I had no problems either. In fact, I had no problems with my snakes taking ASF's one week and rats the next.

    My 'feeder' type animals are on pine, and I feed them to my savanna with no problem.

    I did have issues when i fed them and they were on cedar. My savanna got a bit ill. But no issues with pine.

    Im doing this also and would love some more feedback if this is okay. This is my setup right nowhttp://tapatalk.com/mu/461cf559-9239-1b81.jpg

    Northern white pine bedding for the asfs on the left.. Bp on repti bark fir on the right. As long as the pine will be okay that close..

    Having the pine in the vicinity shouldn't be an issue. Your snake would need to have direct contact with the pine to have a problem.

    Pine is not a problem... It's cedar which is bad..

    Pine=ok....
    Cedar=bad...

    This has been proven in lab tests on rabbits and rats.

    Oi.
