Luckiest day in awhile! New PROVEN normal girl :)
I totally lucked into a huge proven 6+ year old female! I was buying feeder mice since I don't have any in my colony at the moment. I happened to see a huge tank with what appeared to be one large ball python and a log hide. I kind of dreaded looking in as I passed to the feeders with the employee but I peeked and saw a large gorgeous normal ball python. While I was getting the mice I was asking the kid its sex. He said he had no idea because they just came in. I volunteered to pop it for him so they would know. It was then that I realized I would be interested if it was a female! He mentioned that the owner put them on consignment and was just leaving the store so I ran and grabbed him as he was pulling out. I introduced myself and happened to be wearing my BP.net shirt so he realized I was interested in the snake(s). I didn't realize there was a male inside also. He explained he had the female for 6-7 years and the male 3+ years. I asked if he minded if I popped them because I was interested in the female. He said no problem but he knew it was a female. I was going to say most people don't know how to sex them and he replied that she laid eggs a little while after he bought the male 3 years ago! I popped her anyway and she was a female. I asked what he wanted for her and he said $100 for everything. I didn't need a jumbo sized tank, UTH, lamps, logs, male etc etc so I asked what he thought was fair for just the female. He asked me to make an offer so I said $60 and he keeps the male/tank/misc. He replies with how about $50 because I know you're going to take good care of her! I smiled, shook his hand and said deal.... here she is!

I've been on the lookout for a reduced/banded normal female for awhile! I am super picky and would rather not have a normal than one that isn't up to my standards. I totally found her and got a great deal. She has a stuck eye cap or two but I'm sure that was from being in a tank with low humidity. She isn't scarred up but has a little bit of redness near her tail. I'm sure humidity and the perfect husbandry she will receive in my care will fix that ASAP! She's also a rat eater! She's right at 1700g and I can tell she's should be closer to 2000. She's not unhealthy skinny but not as fed as I keep mine. Thanks for looking!
Regards,
B
