So, this fall or next fall I was planning on breeding my Mojave to my spider. I figured i would get half spiders and half Mojaves. So imagine y surprise when looking over at the designer morphs I saw that they actually combine to make a new snake.

That would have been a shocker when they came out of the eggs. >.<

What is the change of a spider/mojave having a wobble?

And what is a spider/mojave called?

I've just never heard of it, and since they are both dom's i guess ithought it would be a split *feels dumb*

I believe they are called Mojave Spider (I've seen it called a spimo, but that's not an official name or anything). And anything with the spider gene will come with a wobble to a degree, some completely not noticeable and some very noticeable. You will not get half and half. You will get:

1/4 wildtype (normal)
1/4 mojave
1/4 spider
1/4 spimo

That's a 1/4 chance per egg, not per clutch.

I think it's just called a Mojave Spider. Anything that contains the spider gene can have the spider wobble. Here is what you will get from your pairing:
25%Normal
25%Spider
25%Mojave
25%Mojave Spider

that link ROCKS! and I see where I made my error - a Mojave is a CO DOM NOT a DOM.

like I said im glad I figured that out before i had a mojave spider baby and couldnt figure out what it was :P

The Dom and Co Dom doesn't work like that.

You can still get a mix of two dominant traits on one snake.

Dom and Co Dom refers to how the morph itself behaves.

If it can be passed on to the next generation with a single gene, but doesn't have a different form when it carries two genes, it's a Dominant trait.

If it can be passed on to the next generation with a single gene, but has a different form when it carries both genes (aka the Super), it's Co Dom.

it tells me that if i breed back a spider mojave to my moave female i will have a 12.5 percent chance of getting a spider super mojave, which i wondered about. Is that possible? any one done it yet? I would imagine it would have potential to look wicked if it worked right

It will be a solid/mostly solid white snake and very hard to tell if it contains the spider gene.

I believe that a Spider Super Mojave is an all white snake with a Spider head pattern. I seen one once in a pic awhile ago so my memory may be incorrect!
