    Wheezing Ball Python?
I just took out my ball python today for the first time in about a week and I notice today that when he breathes (not every time but a noticeable amount) he makes this wheezing/whistling sound. I did some reading and it sounds like it may be an URI. His humidity had been low for a while and so I just started spraying it to raise the humidity to around 60. Could this be a possible reason why he is wheezing? He is very active and seems perfectly normal other than making a whistling sound every now and again.

    Any advice?

It couldbe some stuck shed in it's nostril, bump up temps on warm side alittle. Have you noticed any bubbling from nostrils?

Here is a good article on RTI and other things that can mimic one.
    http://www.anapsid.org/rti.html

Have you changed anything in the past couple weeks, new type of substrate, hides or other furniture?

I spent over a $100 getting my RRS evaluated for a RTI but it was a toxic reaction to a plastic false rock hide for snakes and went away about 3 days after it was removed.

But like the article will tell you, a vet trip ASAP, if it is a RTI waiting will make it worse and harder to treat.

This, especially if the snake is starting shed.

They also just whistle sometimes too. It might be nothing I have one that whistles when she gets stressed out.

Thanks for all the ideas guys! It turns out he had a little skin flap over his nose. He shed the next day. :)
