humidity is high

how high can humidity get before it could harm a bp

building new rack with lidded rubs on testing getting 80% with small water bowl

got it down to 70-75% with lots of holes in lid but then i lose a lot of heat

rep room is 78-80 f humidity 50%

any info or ideas welcome

IMO as long as the substrate isn't wet it won't do much harm. Worse comes to worse you can drill a couple more holes.

using paper towel as substrate for tests

no moisture visible or on side or lid

I'd suggest placing the holes in the tub itself and not in the lid ;)
You'll lose less heat and get the humidity down.

As stated by Jerry, byadding holes to the tubs themselves allows for better air circulation, therefor decreasing the humidity.

When adding the holes to the tubs, a soldering iron is better, it doesn't leave rough edges, and won't possibly crack your tub like a drill can.

i have vent holes at the top running down the sides of rub

and high up on hot end low down on cool end

dont want to weaken to rub to much

so went with holes in lid

would 70% cause harm?

It's higher than I'd keep mine in but I can't really answer how high is too high.

What are you using to read your humidity?

Nope, 70% is just fine! Again, as long as it isn't causing condensation that makes the substrate soggy, there's no harm in high humidity. In their natural habitat they can get humidity as high as 100%, so no worries on the air humidity.

I use the sterlite tubs, each 28qt tub has over 250+ holes

ok i dont have at amount of hole :O:O

does that no affect the tubs strength ????

will put i lot of hole in one tub to test strength

any other ideas to reduce humidity
