    New snake.
Today I broke all of my own rules. I bought a snake I have no clear plans for, a male no less. A supposed het with no papers. He looks like he needs some groceries. He certainly needed a good soak--you're not seeing the dried shed that came on him, I rolled that off after the soak. He doesn't handle well for a ball python, he handles more like a pissed off ratsnake. I have passed over many far better snakes. And yet....I like the guy.

Anyways, meet Darth Jackass. He bit me 4 times already so he's earned the name.

I apologize for the pictures. I couldn't get him to sit still because he's like a snake on speed. I felt sorry for him and for some reason I liked him, so he stays. Go ahead, laugh. :)

Oh my gosh he has bit you 4 times already! At least he has a sweet pattern!

Cool pattern, sorry he's got an attitude. Maybe if you're lucky, he'll calm down over time.

I kinda like snakes with a funky attitude, it's part of his appeal. :D

I also liked the messed up pattern. I don't know if I'll ever be inebriated or crazy enough to breed the guy, but if I do stoop that low I wouldn't mind getting one that looks like him.

He was bought for a pet. If he never amounts to anything but a fun and challenging basket case he's still got a home.

Awwww! The poor guy! If he had shed stuck on him that badly it is no wonder why he is so pissed off! He really is beautiful.

Come to think of it, he hasn't bitten me since I got those bits of stuck shed off. Maybe I need to glue them back on.

I managed to get him to sit still long enough to get a partial pic of his underbelly. Nothing really remarkable there. He's not as nippy as he was a few hours ago. After this pic I offered him a f/t rat which he came partway out of his cage to grab. Poor guy--he had to be pretty hungry to feed that quickly in a strange cage. Oh, in the first pic he looked sort of "well rounded" at the back end. Well, that "well rounded" was crapped out in the form of a big load of feces and urates. And I now have a sparkling clean laundry sink that reeks of clorox.

Yeah, I like his pattern. It's funny--I don't usually go for the dark snakes and he is darker than average.

I enjoy working with the snappy ones, so I guess he'll earn his keep by entertaining me.
