Everyone is hatching and I'm just getting started!!
Everyone else has hatchlings pipping or all the way out and we are just getting started!!!!

We were in the middle of house hunting during breeding season so we didn't want to run the risk of actually having eggs and losing them during a move so we waited until we got into the house and settled before we even attempted.

Precious, or Big Momma, as we call her is a 2400g normal female that is believed to be about 6 years old. Charlie is our spider male we bought from the same breeder when we purchased Big Momma.

Now that everything is settled we thought we'd give them a go and see what happened. Not really expecting much, I put Charlie in with her last night. Today when I got home from work I found this:

    A little steamy tub

    A little cuddling action

And what appears to be a lock!!!!!!

I'm super excited! Now, I've been reading the Markus Jayne site but since he breeds only in the fall/winter I'm a little off. After they "unlock" I plan on removing him to attempt feeding and rest for 3 days then keep putting him in until she refuses him, is that correct? I don't know how to palpitate so I'm going on visual signs only I'm guessing after this stage the next thing I'm looking for is bowl wrapping?

    Thanks everyone!!

Congrats, don't sweat it, I've hatched 4 clutches so far this season, and I still I still have 5 females building and locking. Palpating is easier with a satin glove.
