    Beardy neonate in Simulated egg
So not quite sure how this happened. But a few days ago I went to check on my upcoming hatching eggs. They're due any day so I keep a closer eye on things as the days pass. I opened the tub and I was quite amazed to find an egg had literally I guess exploded. I've never seen this before but at first I thought the baby had pipped. As I look closer I see that he's actually still in the membrane curled around the yolk. He obviously hadn't pipped yet, I decided to grab a small container and a dampened a paper towel and put it in the bottom carefully. I put The exploded egg and the baby on the paper towel and put a square of Saran wrap rubberbanded taut over the top with two small air holes. Stuck him back in the bator and hoped for the best!

Tonight I looked in on him to make sure he didn't dry out and he had broken through the membrane and has started life! I'm happy he's going to be ok. I didnt know when the issue had happened, and I didn't quite know what to do about the situation. But I'm glad he seems to be ok.
Thought I'd throw this up in case this freak thing ever should occur to anyone else. Took some pics through the process. ENJOY!

I've never seen that before at all. The eggs get so enormous and these are at around 64 days. So I don't know if it was all the fluid that had accumulated during incubation. The other eggs look like they're going to burst any day now. But I think this one actually did burst.
He seems to be doing great! He's come out of the membrane now and still has a bit of yolk to go.
He'll be staying in his fake egg just like a normal baby would until he's totally done absorbing his yolk and then it's off to the nursery. I'm pretty happy that's he's ok.

Well it is nice to see the little one is going to make it. Yeah the eggs get so big right before hatching. I have my 1st clutch of the season hatching now so my season is just starting. It was a very late season all around this year wont see my 1st ball clutch till next week.

I see you will be at the NH show in oct... I have a few tables at the show again I look forward to chatting with you.. :D

Ya awesome! Come find me! I love the shows. It's too bad I can't make it to both of them. My season started right on time but I still have 5 beardy clutches and 2 ball clutches to go. Plus all the other critter eggs. I'm glad I stopped the female beardies when I did. They were popping them out like no ones business. I'll have to take a finished picture of him when I get home. He's my little explosion baby. He's doing well though. He's eating and running around and in no time I'm sure waving and bobbing. Lol
