    i just fed my pall python and now he has been sitting in the same spot for about 4 hours now is this normal?

    Yeah. They don't move much after they eat. Mine go into their hides and sit still and digest.

    Where is he sitting? Do you have two hides? Are you providing proper temps? Yes it is normal for a snake to stay in one place after feeding usually that is the warn hide. If he is sitting out in the open check your temps, that is not normal.

    After mine eat they chill in their hides and digest. I agree with kitedemon, digesting in the open out of their hide is a tad strange.

    he is sitting on top of his hide on the warm side temp is at 90 on the warm side and 80 on the cool side 60% humidity

    Possibly urinated or deficated in the hide? Mine won't go into a dirty hide.

    He is on top of his hide all day and all night? Or just sometimes? It is quite odd that a ball would fail to hide while digesting. How exactly are you checking temps? Are you checking inside the hides or on the wall. There can be large differences from the side of an enclosure to the floor inside the hide. What is your ambient air temp?

    Mine will hang out on top of his hide to digest sometime. Not every time but sometimes. He usually goes back in after a few hours though. I wouldn't hover and stress him if he's freshly eaten though.
