    Thermostat Question
    I currently have a JC.

I just got a hatchling rack and I'd really like to have a seperate Tstat for that. I am just not comfortable with using one for my adults and hatchlings. If I am wrong on that let me know.

So I noticed that ABI now recommends the VE-100.

Does anyone have esperience with it? It's $5 more than the JC. Is it that much more convenient?

    Thanks.

You would be fine to use the hatchling rack on the same t stat a your adults, the one you mentioned above is still an on/off type thermostat, I dont see one brand better than the other really besides cosmetics. The only reason I use herpstats is because the on/off type stats clicking on and off annoy the crap out of me, especially when you have quite a few. If you wanted to step up you could go with the VE200 which is proportional like herpstat or helix

I corresponded with Rich for a bit about the VE line. I agree I'd go proportional just because it is more flexible in the long run (it could get used differently in few years). Rich says the probe accuracy is 0.5ºF +/- where the johnsons is 2ºF. That is worth a five dollar difference.

Forgot to mention that you can use the hatchling rack on the same t stat as long as both racks have the same heat tape width and both racks are belly heat or back heat, I wouldnt mix
