just had my baby weighed

parker weighs 83 grams.... the people at the pet store said they didn't know how old he was. any roundabout ideas of his age at this weight?

It's impossible to tell how old by size or weight, because a number of things could impact how fast or slow a snake grows, but if I had to give a rough estimate, I wouldn't guess him too much older than 2 months, given that your average hatchling hatches out at around 50-60 grams.

Agreed, it's probably not more then 2 or 3 months old.

To give you an idea my female lesser was hatched 5/25/11 and as of last night she weighs 99g.

first feeding attempt will be monday night. we actually handled him a bit the first few days, the lady at petco told us that we needed to. once we found out we might stress him out we stopped (well except today when my friend picked him up and weighed him). feeding day was supposed to be this past friday (yesterday). that was the pet store schedule. but my step son isn't with us fri-sun and we want him home to witness the feeding. so i figured let parker have more time to settle and not be handled, it can be at night that way too (otherwise it would have been daytime on thursday). i will update the status of the first feeding and how it goes monday night. i hope he takes it, but if he doesn't we will just wait the week to try again and just let him settle more in the meantime.
