Lesser Clown
So the first time I saw the Lesser Clown I was hooked. I have a female Lesser gaining size and planning on adding the clown. However, I have looked around on Kingsnake and Fauna but haven't seen anything on the joining of these two genes. Is it uncommon or unwanted or what? The only person I heard had one was a big breader(name skips my head) Do any of you have them? If so pics would be lovely...Thanks everyone

By far not unwanted! Just very uncommon. Supply for lesser het clowns is extremely low, demand is certainly quite high. You'll have to pay through the nose for animals that potentially could produce a lesser clown, and you'll have to give up both arms and legs to buy one outright.

It's a project that isn't very far yet. My guess is you're going to see a few later this year and A LOT next year. The above poster is right. Codom clown hets and outright codom clowns are expensive. The clown project hasn't been mixed with a lot of things yet which is why I'm choosing it as my first recessive project :)
Regards,

Ya hopefully I can get a clown and fingers cross for him to produce a female lesser het clown. Thanks for the info guys, just thinkin bout it keeps me up at nights haha

The quickest way to do it is to get a FEMALE clown, breed her to something worthwhile, and then cross your fingers on a son to pair her with the following season.
If you go with a male clown, you're going to be raising potential het daughters for a good 2 years at least.

Re: Lesser Clown

Re: Lesser Clown
I would get a male clown since you can throw him at any other female morphs you have, but there is something to be said for raising up a female clown as well. A visual female proves invaluable down the line.
I picked up a male clown and a female lesser 50% het clown/hypo. If she proves out, great. If she doesn't, hopefully she'll give me a male lesser het clown to throw at one of my het females.
