Opinions needed on this girl, reality check maybe ?
Ok, so this is Akashi, my pride and joy and the biggest girl in my collection.

She was paired with a pastel male beginning in about December. In early Februrary she went off food. She started refusing the male in late April. She went through the motions of building, lumping up, laying inverted, etc. This lasted until June. In mid June she suddenly went on a feeding frenzy. She was taking a medium rat weekly and constantly looking for more. She's had 5 of these voracious feeds so far. The other bred female in my collection layed eggs in mid May that are due to hatch any day.

Here's the kicker with Akashi. Three weeks ago she shed, and she appeared to glow when she shed. Her blushing and her colors just popped! So I didn't know what to think was going on. After reassurances from members here some females do indeed eat right up until laying, I just kept watching her and offering food.

Fast forward to today. I do my daily check on my snakes, and Akashi is laying funny. In a loose not quite coil, half on her side. She looks swollen and miserable. Right away I think "Ovulation!". But the longer I look the more I think I'm imagining things. Her belly also appears faintly pink, like she might be going in to shed again.

So, here it is. Look over her pictures and tell me what you think. Do you think she could be ovulating ? Could it be she will lay after all, even so far behind the other female ? Or do I need a reality check and maybe a swift kick in the pants to get my head out of the clouds ?

She was not happy with me opening the tub for pictures either. There you have it. Tell me the truth, I can take it.

The shape of her body makes me think gravid but at this point, you really can't know unless she lays. I had one girl go through all the same motions and I could have sworn she was due to lay but she must have reabsorbed because nothing happened.

I have almost the same thing with my bee, but she's still off feed. But now doesn't look fat like gravid.

She has a bit of a gravid look to her, and she's got a bit of tail suck going on, but as was said the only way to tell for sure is to wait and see if she lays...

you can do nothing more than wait I think she is gravid.
I hat a female who eats after the pre shed and give me 5 nice eggs :)
    Good luck :gj:

Definitely not an ovulation, but she looks gravid - so that shed could have been her pre-lay shed :gj: an ovulation is more of a localized hard swell with 6-10" of the end of their body looking skinny, like these:
