Store bought Terrarium for a Ball Python
This is the 2nd Ball Python I have owned, had to get rid of the other when I moved to another state. I have always used Glass aquariums to house them, but recently have been seeing Terrarium's for sale online as well as local stores and they have caught my eye.
I am wondering if anyone has any input on using these for a Ball Python? I know they are good at escaping and the locks on these kind of worry me, especially when I have not seen too many reviews mentioning holding a snake in them.
To get an idea of what I am looking at I have included a link: http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-NT-2-N...079987&sr=8-15
This is not the exact one but I have seen quite a few from Zoo Med and Exo Terra. I am mainly on the look out for a front opening Terrarium for easy access and visibility at an affordable price.
Re: Store bought Terrarium for a Ball Python
Thanks Deborah. My main concern really is the locks that come on a lot of store bought Terrarium's more than anything else. I have been looking around and have found many different Terrarium's in shapes in sizes. Just planning for the next tank as the one I have now will eventually be outgrown and would love to have an amazing setup for when the time comes.
Re: Store bought Terrarium for a Ball Python
I guess I should clarify I already have him in a tank which is a 20 gallon. But looking for something like here - http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products...rium_large.php
They have the "Large/Wide" as shown here - http://www.exo-terra.com/download/hi...ium_Filled.jpg
Mainly just concerned on being able to escape with these kind of door locks.

Really cool with the front access, not much different than a glass tank.
Stick with the 18" high for sure, anything else will be a pain to heat.
Re: Store bought Terrarium for a Ball Python
I am currently researching the exact same terrarium because im looking to get a bp right away. I think its a great setup the only question I have is that it is so big do you think using a UTH and a light is necessary?
