    jarobin
    turtle laid eggs/incubation
my painted turtle laid eggs in the tank the other day. she only laid 3, and all separately. 2 she laid in the water which i know is no good. one she laid on her basking rock. the 2 in the water had a yellowish color, the one on the rock had more of a rose pink hint to it.
We actually re-released her in the pond she came from after she was having trouble laying the eggs in our tank. We had never intended to keep her very long anyway. I put the egg that was on the rock, as well as the first one from the water (before i found out that it was bad if they laid eggs in the water) in a tupperware container with some dirt and mulch from outside. I don't know which is which anymore. I marked each egg for the top too. Is there anything else I should do? Does it need a certain temp/moisture level?
