Can a camera hurt your snake?
Just asking out of curiosity, can a camera flash blind your snake? I took a few pics of my bp with a flash, but I'm not worried, just wondering. :snake:

I used to take a lot of pictures of my boa with the flash, after a while one of her eyes turned silver. I stopped after that, and her eye went normal after the next shed. Probably not a good idea to do it too often, I'm sure you'd be bothered if someone did it to you.

Sounds like your snake went into the beginning stage of a shed cycle. Lol
They can't see all that well to begin with but I honestly don't think it will cause them much harm.
    If any.
    But that's just my 2cents.

Edit: oh one eye!! Haha sorry.

I have never heard of flash harming a snake. That's very interesting.

At any rate, it can startle them. It's best to find a lighter area where flash is not necessary.

Yeah, me either... as many photos as I take, they'd ALL be blind by now!

I have one snake (female Stimson's Python) who hates the camera, even without flash... I think the little red light bothers her, and she actually struck at the camera once. Shame, because she's literally the prettiest snake in my collection - so it's hard to resist photographing her constantly.
