In the event of a power outage...?

It's storming right now, and it got me thinking. What should I do if the power goes out? Is there anything I could do to make sure my snake stayed warm? Would the heat from the tank's heating source linger long enough to keep him warm? Just curious, in case this were to happen someday.

I keep 40 hour heat packs on hand.

Where do you live? I'm in MA and it's 90 degrees out here. My ACs would go off and my house would remain warm enough temporarily. If it's that cold you can always fill bottles with hot water and put them in the enclosures.

I live in Colorado, so it can get pretty cold here. Especially when it's raining/snowing. The hot-water bottle idea is good, though, just in case. :)

Right now it's not an issue as the snake room stays in the mid 80, during the winter should something happen I have a buddy heater for the room and I also have a generator.

I live in the great white north (Canada :rolleyes:) and even in the summer sometimes it's not warm enough, so as was said I keep 40h heat packs on hand to hold me off until I can get my (small) generator hooked up if it's a really bad outage.
