Aggressive BP

Well I have noticed the last couple days my BP has been quite aggressive striking at the glass when my gf went around him two days ago and today when I took the lid off his tank he went into strike mode?? Any suggestions?

Is he hungry?

His temps are 90 on hot and 80 on cool and he eat 2 med mice Saturday?

Alright, How about more detail on the setup, and his size. Pictures would be most helpful. If you don't know his weight do you have a picture of him compared to something (such as a dollar bill, or a hand). How do you measure temps?

Well he is in a 20 gal long with screen lid I have the lid half covered to keep the humidity and heat inside he has two hides one on the hot side and one on the cold side I use the dial thermometers right now hoping to go get something nicer tomorrow after reading more about the dial ones. Okay I would upgrade him to at least rat pups, they are a lot more filling than mice IMO. He could probably take one weaned rat though judging from his size. How are you heating? A UTH with a thermostat??

He might just need to be handled more often or left alone. Is he a new pet?

You could try covering the cage with a blanket so he doesn't see anything walk by that might frighten him. Sounds like to me he doesn't feel secure in his own living quarters.

If that's him, he's hungry. He's quite thin, and at that size can be eating small rats.

Have you taken in a fecal sample to your vet to test for internal parasites?

Also, are you reaching for him right towards his head or are you slowly approaching from the back? I always use hand sanitizer and rub it in my hands completely before I touch either one of my bps. That way he smells the sanitizer and knows it's me. I also approach them opposite the direction their head is pointed and rub them for a second before I actually grab them.
