Shedding again (yay!)

Those of you who helped me through my baby ball's first awful shed remember how bad it was, and obviously i want to avoid having the same issue. I've been misting the HELL out of the cage, usually around 4 times a day. Is there anything else i can do for her to make sure that she doesn't have another awful shed?

It's just a guess, but do you have a heat lamp? If so, switch to a UTH. That one change alone made a world of a difference for my girl during her sheds. The heat lamp knocks my natural humidity from 60-70% to 30-40%.

I do, but when it's plugged in it makes literally no difference in tank temperature. I have it turned off right now because she's started to burrow and lay on the glass bottom of the tank. When i unplugged it, the temperature actually went up.

The impact on the tank temperature is relatively minor, but it will suck the humidity out anyway. I'd leave it off while she's in shed as long as the temps don't get too low.

I have a new bp too and I think he is getting ready to shed...is misting the tank a good idea? He has the dry looking skin and the grayish eyes. I am using an uth but have not monitored the humidity.

A UTH with a thermostat? If not the temps are too high. Misting is fine if needed, usually only needed if you use lamps or depending on where you live. I never have to mist for my one tank and he always has prefect sheds. Over misting can be very bad, causing scale rot from damp substrate and also causes bacteria to build up.
