    Tempgun prices
I saw a thread on here the other day about a tempgun at lowes that was really cheap, but now I can't find the link...?? Could someone let me know if they see the link? or if anyone knows where I can get a good deal on one. Thanks! :snake:

Temp guns are all about the same accuracy no matter the price (2ºF up or down) The selling points for me are what kind of batteries does it take?

I like to use something I have at home or can get at a corner store and not some crazy odd ball (I had one that used a 3 cr123a at 22$ each the cheap gun turned out not to be so cheap.)

This gun is the best one that I have. It's very accurate up to 1-2 feet away and the AAA batteries last forever. I still haven't changed them after 9 months with 50+ snakes to check.

spitzu thanks for reminding me. Rich has a great FAQ on temp guns it is worth a quick read before you buy.

Unless it is very poor accuracy the DS ratio is more important. Among other things it represents the optimal measurement distance. 1:1 - 4" 6:1 - 24" and so on. I like to get into the nooks and cranny s of the enclose so I use a 1:1 version.

every 1ºC is about 1.8ºF fyi

the General one at lowes is an 8:1 DS and accuracy is 2% or 2ºC +/- (3.6ºF up or down) not very accurate by my standards but good enough for some.

I saw it at my local Lowes, but it was only accurate to +-4 degrees. I did not buy it:)
