temperature change and feeding day help

the day before feeding i decided to do a cleaning of the tank.i cleaned everything and added new substrate and replaced everything the same.
the problem instead of getting the 90degrees basking spot with just a uth,the uth alone is not working now i have the heat lamp in effect to help and thats getting to 86.i have the lamp on a dimmer and heat pad on thermostat.

before the change the substrate was alot drier and the moistness is the culprit and the thick layer above the heat pad.i removed some of thickness.

its now two days past feeding day because of this.
should i not feed my bp til the temps go back up?

I personally would of offered to feed him on the normal schedule. If it didn't eat then no big deal and wait till the next schedule.

eating is not the problem,i know my girl would eat whenever i offer i just dont want her to not get enough belly warmth and have her vomit because the heat was mostly provided radiantly.as the substrate dries out more the temps will go through from the uth more efficently and i wont need the heat lamp.

i fixed the problem.i went back to the old setup.two uths covering 1/4 of the bottom and both on a thermostat.temps are fine now.i just gotta remember as the substrate gets less moist i can remove the second.

i fed her and she took it as i thought she would,so no more worries.
