    Don't Laugh ... GHETTO RACK!!!! :D
hi everyone ... Just finished my ghetto rack today ... hey it's ghetto but don't laugh. I don't have my heat tape yet, so I'm using a heating pad for now, but with my new heat gun that I saw on this website for sale at Lowe's ... temps are good :)

Also got an accurite temp thingy...

Anyway here is the rack, with only 1 bp in it so far. The butter is coming wednesday and the fire and bee are coming once the fire eats for the first time :)

The lids on these are perfect for snakes ... :)

    Hi,

Since it isn't a tight fit between the lid and the shelf above you might want to double check you don't need a couple of binder clips along the long sides of the rubs.

There tends to be a bit of give in the lids and these snakes are surprisingly strong.

It would be horrible if it managed to lift the lid up enough to escape or (even worse ) not quite enough and got stuck and pinned in the lid by the force of the plastic trying to spring back into shape. :(

Actually a big reason I got these tubs is bc of their snap lids. Each lid has two very secure clips that seem to work even better :)

We lost our favorite snake due to this. We came home to find her half out of the tub stuck with a broken back. It was a terrible thing to go through and I would not want to see it happen to anyone else. Make sure those lids are tight!

P.s. I did laugh a little! As long as it works though! :gj:

+1 on the binder clips. They are cheap insurance for lids that snap only on the ends. I may be overdoing it but on my 28 qt tubs I put 2 on each side just to make sure. I have seen my children nosing around looking for a way out at times...

ok ok i giggled a little bit but i know that working with limited materials, space and the proper tools can make the easiest seem impossible.

check out lowes for the clips, i found little 50 cent metal clips covered in rubber that are spring loaded and work great. they are the same idea as a clothes pin but really secure those sides. good job
