    Possible Scale Rot/Burn?
    Hey guys,

I'm rather certain nothing is wrong here... But I like to be 100% certain with my BP shrike :).

As of today, he shed about a week ago, and I just noticed a slight pink coloration down by his vent, about 4" above it. It doesn't look "nasty" by any means, just pink like pre-shed coloring. I'll post pictures tomorrow, but does this sound worrisome at all to you guys? His temps are perfect along with humidity.

    Thanks,
    Fatal

It's difficult to say until you get the photos posted. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

yeah, pictures please! in focus, careful with the flash so you don't wash it out.

It's probably okay--check the temperatures to make sure the hot spot is not above 95F. Is the bedding dry? Scale rot is usually caused by sitting on soaking wet bedding for long periods.

If the hot spot is the right temp and the bedding is dry, just keep an eye on him.

    Hi,

We probably need those pics before we can even guess but, in the meantime triple check your temps to make sure there aren't any hotspots.

What kind of substrate are you using?
