Help please

So my bp is roaming animist all day. Tomorrow is feeding time. He keeps going up the side of the tank the turns upside down but he doesn't loose balance. and it's like he is smelling or tasting the heat from the lamp then he goes on the cool side and does the same thing on the branch. Please help

Is he hungry? Looking for a way out? Is he sick?

I doubt he is sick. But he may be a little hungry and looking for a way out. The time stamp on your post tells me that he is being active when he should be. Unless he is doing it during the day also, then that would be a sign of stress. As I posted in your other thread, you can feed him if you want to, but personally, I would hold off until you get your thermostat and UTH going. This will prevent any possible regurgitations due to the night time temperature drop.
How big is your snake and what size enclosure is he in?

Ditto questions about the enclosure size and the size of the snake. Take a picture of the enclosure, too?

You can give him a few more hides and branches to play on. Sometimes there isn't anything wrong, they just are going through an active phase. May as well give him some toys to explore.

He might just be hungry if he is used to a regular feeding schedule.

Or he might be a little stressed as you have changed things in his tank - it can take them a little while to settle back down again. If he is a little stressed he might not want to eat. Don't panic about it. :cool:

I haven't seen the other thread yet talking about night time drops - but take the advice on skipping the feed if you are having temp issues.

He is in a 20 gallon. And my temp without the uth pad it's around 90 to 92 and I put the probe almost touching the bottom behind his hide

Okay firstly, put the probe under the hide, the hide traps quite a lot of heat, it may be too hot for him. Is he exploring ALL DAY (day and night) or just at certain times of the day?

Just certain time of the day. I just fed them and they both ate:)

So I put the probe under the bark under his hide. That should read 90 to 92?

Not yet. For now, since you are using only the heat lamp, just raise the hide up and slide the thermometer probe under it. That way your thermometer will be reading the temp inside the hide.
Now, once you get the thermostat and UTH set up, then the thermometer probe will go under the substrate, against the glass.
