I am about to order this one
Any last opinions on the Animal Plastics Economy Plastics racks?

I am looking at the 6/12 tub rack for 15 and 32 quart tubs.

Is there anything wrong with having an open rack verses a fully shelved one?
Or are there other racks of similar pricing that you would recommend over these? Thank you in advance.

I would recommend you buying some tubs and melanin wood to build your own. I have owned one of those racks and they worked well. However; building your own is cheaper.

I have that rack and I love it. I used the open setup to add chains and locks so my kids can't open the tubs without me unlocking them. The only issue we have had is that one of our snakes doesn't like it being so open, so we just taped black paper around the outside so give her more privacy.

The other issue, is there is a slight heat differential from the bottom rack to the top because of heat rising but since it is our first rack I am not sure if that is the normal, I would assume it is. It hasn't been a problem for us and I would defiantly buy another. In fact as soon as we need another I will.

I agree with building your own out of melamine. WAY cheaper and you can build it to your own specs.

Check out Reptile Basics they are much better racks that ship assembled and come with tubs too. I have used AP in the past and RBI are so much better. Plus Iris tubs are so much better then sterilite.
