    Not your average Joe...
Quickie pic of TBC Bazooka Joe - a pink Bangka Island locality blood python. I can't wait to get him out into some natural sunlight to show off his true colors...fluorescent lights don't do him much justice.

This fellow is such a sweetheart of a snake too, super docile & fun to work with. LOVIN' these bloods & short-tails! :D

    Wait...this isn't a support group? You know...support your addiction?! ;) We're addicts over here, too. :D

And thank you! We loooooove sharing these critters with folks who truly appreciate them. :) It's nice to see more & more dedicated blood python fans out there!

At the risk of sounding stupid I tried looking this up first but can't seem to find an answer are blood pythons ball pythons? or not even close?

    Tori,

Blood pythons are a heavy-bodied, mid-sized Indonesian python species, Python brongersmai. They're in the python genus along with ball pythons, but are related more along the lines of "third cousins twice removed." ;)

Blood pythons are closely related to the two short-tailed python species, the Borneo short-tailed python (Python breitensteini) and the Sumatran short-tailed python (Python curtus).

    Great question! :)
