Are you sure they weren't selling Lessers "het leusistic?" all lessers are het lucy so maybe thats what they were talking about. I have never heard anything of a Het lesser.

Platinums and Lessers are different Morphs...When you breed a Platty to a Normal you make Lesser Platinums and Normals...

You make Platinums by breeding a Platinum Normal looking sib to a Lesser.

You should check out RDR's site for all the info...

    Hi,

Platty daddies contain two different morph genes not just one like the lesser.

The second one only seems to be visual when combined with another member of the blue eyed lucy complex.

Now we don't know which ones he has done but he has made platty daddies and butter daddies using the lesser and butter gene respectively.

So if you breed a platty dady to a normal you would get half lessers ( the full name is lesser platinums ) and half "het daddies" that cary the gene to make more platty daddies but appear visually normal.

These last ones are what you are seeing for sale on kingsnake.

It is important to note you do not get het lessers as lesser platinum is a co-dom gene but you get both heterozygous and homozygous "het platty" that appear to be visually normal animals.

Hope that made it clearer rather than worse. :rolleye2:
