I thought it might have been mouth rot, but now I think it may be something else...

All 3 of my babies aren't head shy, unless they're in the process of shedding, but the other day I noticed one my bp's kept pulling his head away, acting very sensitive to any touches to his head(I found this unusual, because I spend a lot of time with them). I started checking his face for anything that might be causing him discomfort, and I noticed that the 2 front center pits had something in them that sort of resembled dried blood, I gently pried his mouth open and noticed a little swelling/discoloration on his bottom jaw right in front (for lack of the proper name of this) 'breathing tube'(you know the tube they use to breath from when eating). The first thing that came to mind was mouth rot, but I looked up the symptoms of mouth rot, and there's no mention of it affecting the 'heat pits', then I remembered that when he last ate, he struck at the rat, missed and kind of hit the wall of his tank kind of hard, but that was about a week ago, and this just now became noticeable.
So far I have been treating the affected areas with a 50/50 water/peroxide solution, applied 2 times daily with a q-tip, a little in his mouth, as well as the 'heat pits'. His feeding day is tomorrow, should I offer him food to see if he wants to eat, but if there is any infection in his mouth I don't want to irritate even more by feeding. No matter what if this condition worsens I will be taking him to the vet, but if it's something simple that can be taken care of at home without a costly vet visit that would be nice, also if pictures are needed I'll post some if it will help.

Don't feed him until it heals, imo. A few weeks off won't hurt him.

That's what I'm thinking, because I know that feeding causes some stress to the mouth area, from all the stretching and stuff, and if it is a wound it could cause it to open and allow bacteria to get in. Also do you think I should continue treating it with the 50/50 water/peroxide treatments?

I'm not qualified to answer that... Post some pics so someone else can give you advice, but be prepared to see the word "vet" mentioned a few times.

Update:
It's clearing up, so I guess it was just an injury where he hit the side of the aquarium during feeding.
