anyone else afraid of needles?
i got nearly 10 tattoos ans im am scared to death of needles..whenever i go to the doctor and a shot is in order they always point out that i have so many tattoos how could i be afraid of needles..its not the same..it just isn't.
i think i need a filling redone on one of my back teeth and that means a shot right?..when i first got it done i remember the dentist pulling out a bigg a$$ needle and me walking out..only to be scolded and sent back by my mom :(
you'd think at 28 years old i would be over this..but im not...i cant even watch other people get shots..tattoos are not the same
Re: anyone else afraid of needles?
I'm very afraid of needles. The weird thing is, I work at an animal hospital and work with needles all the time. With animals it doesn't bother me at all, but when it comes to myself or other people, needles freak me out.

[raises hand slowly]
i.i.i..h-h-hate needles too!
especially at the dentist...background story-
back when i was 16 getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled, the dentist...may he burn in hell...gave me several shots in my gums around all 4 of the teeth but wasnt paying attention to what he was doing and the needle, being like 6 inches long was actually going all the way through and into my tongue a couple times and then he didnt wait for the medicine to take effect before beginning. at one point he was using something like a crowbar to force the teeth out! i could HEAR the nerves ripping! i was screaming & crying hysterically but couldnt say anything cuz my mouth was being kept open by that opener thingy. the dentist didnt stop either and was telling me to relax. i think i actually passed out a few times from the trauma of the whole ordeal. that is the reason for my extreme fear of dentists to this very day, 14 yrs later. i bawled like a baby the last time i had to have fillings.
just to have 2 absessed teeth extracted last year they had to gas me then give me an I.V general anesthetic to put me completely under...& that wasnt even done until it got to the point i couldnt eat anymore & was completely bedridden with the pain & got put on antibiotics for the infection and darvacet for the pain...
i have to get my blood drawn 1-2 x's p/ yr to check my thyroid levels and i have rolly veins.
when i was having my youngest daughter in april it took 2 nurses & then finally a lab tech to get my I.V in properly after 2 attempts in different locations...i ended up with a huge, dark purple bruise that didnt go away until weeks later!
oh & then the epidurals i had when having my children...thank god i wont ever have to go through that again cuz i done got me fixed! no more babies, lol.
