    Is this normal
    I had a quick question is it normal for my ball python not to use it's hide during the day during the day he just lays on top of it's hide is this normal

    It can be normal, but it could also indicate that your husbandry is off. What are the temperatures (hot side and cold side), what heat source are you using and what are you using to measure the temperatures?

    Yes and no. If your temps are comfortable in the hide, then it's not unusual for some Balls to stay outside of their hides. If it is too warm in the hide, then your snake is probably trying to move to a location more comfortable which is on top of the hide.

    I'd disagree, a ball python not hiding during the day (with the exception of early morning and late evening) is not normal and points to temperature issues. Check the temps both of the hot and cool hides and the ambient air temps. I'd guess that they are too warm.

    I'm using a v
    Zilla digital thermometer and it's reading 88.5 and cool side is 78

    maybe hes hunting? My RTB powder is always hiding, but she knows when its feeding day and she will camp out ontop of her hide until she gets a rat then she goes straight into a hide lol

    Maybe hes just hungry :)
