Suntiger, your thoughts......
Alright, so my wife has helped me get over my fears of spiders with getting used to the 11 we now have (bought a few more), and I decided I actually wanted to willingly purchase my own. I saw and fell in love with a proven female Venezuelan Suntiger.
Now, I've been doing my research on them and know they are fast and can be aggressive. Compared to the GBB, how would you rate the aggressive-ness? Have you been tagged by one? How would you compare it with an OW T?
Re: Suntiger, your thoughts......
No worries. My wife is the same way. She likes the Ornamentals, but because of reading bite reports on them she won't get one until our daughter is a little older.
I, on the other hand, do like the colors and the design of the Suntiger(orange and black are my favorite colors).
The other few that seem to have become my favorites are the Avicularia.

Personally I really like the looks of the P. Irmina (Suntiger) but as you already know they can range from defensive to almost aggressive (they've been known to stridulate when bothered).
Most Avicularia are a completely different beast - a lot of them tend to be a lot more easygoing and more tractable. Care-wise the avics and the p. Irmina are pretty close, but it comes down to what you really want from a tarantula.
If you want something rare and amazing to look at and you really like the Suntiger, then go for it. If you start to prefer the avics, then go for that. The only thing is that you'll be able to find a lot more avics much easier than you would find a suntiger.

I'm not worried about finding Avics. We bred our terminal male metallica to our female and are hoping for a good sac from her. We also have the Versicolor. I like the latter one more. Used to be fairly aggressive but has seemed to calm down in the last month or so.
Re: Suntiger, your thoughts......
You, sir, are a wise man. Wife and I already discussed the fact that any cage maintenance for the Suntiger will be done in the tub, since they can't climb porcelain from what I've heard. We always check the T's by lightly touching the back of their abdomen with a paint brush to see how they react. There are at least three T's we know we can handle safely. The others we know we can't.
The others I like are the GBB, only because of her colors, and the Fireleg, Red-rump and Smithy we have. Ah, who am I kidding, next to my Bp's I love our T's! :D
