Not sure what to feed.

Hello i just got in 2 2010 ball pythons. One is a pastel het.ghost and the other is a het.ghost female(pics later). I was just wandering what size prey item should they be getting? the male is about 270g and the female is 222g. thank you.

I would suggest rat pups or weaned rats

id say large mice or rats of similar size. i generally try not to feed any prey that is larger than the snake is around at its widest. just a general suggestion maybe others will have some better advice.

At that size they should be able to take a weaned rat without a problem. Once they reach 340-400 they should be ready for small rats. If you are unsure, you can also feed a rat that is 15% of your snakes body weight.
