Without a necropsy, there is no way anyone on here can tell you what happened. They'd just be tossing guesses around. If you have a thermometer that records highest and lowest temperatures, you may want to check that.

who or where did your husband get it from??? regardless youd have to get a necropsy to get the reason for its death and get some peace of mind. Sorry for your loss, been there done that with one bp and geckos.

I am very sorry for your loss.
Do you control your heating method with a thermostat?

How do you heat your enclosure?

The heating is controlled by thermostat and the enclosure is heated by heat mat and light. Checked them all yesterday and they are all fine no heat surges or major drops in temperature. Taking chusi to the vet now for a necropsy to find out what happened. Will take a few days for the results but will post when i know the outcome.

How do you measure the temps in the tank? What size tank? Is it near a window?

If everything seems right, no spikes in temp, no one sprayed any chemicals, she had water, then there's no telling what happened. Unfortunately, these living creatures sometimes just up and die without showing much of any sign at all. Reptiles don't show many symptoms if something IS wrong, so there may have been no warning.

Sorry for your loss. I hope your vet can come up with a definitive conclusion but don't be discouraged if he can't.

    Hello
Thanks for your post the tank was not near a window and the temps are measured with a heat gun absolutely no chemicals and she has water always. I hope my vet can come up with something still cant get my head around it.

Was the snake burned? I ask as so many are questioning heat. Burns are fairly easy to spot if there is no burn it is unlikely to have died from temp related issues so quickly also the snake would not have been feeding if the temps were off. I am dreadfully sorry for your loss.
