looking for a new snake...

I'm looking to add another snake to my "zoo" as we like to call my house lol I used to have a Burmese python who passed away last year so I'm not afraid of a snake of size but I do not have the space for one where I live. I currently have two ball pythons and a cali. king snake that really belongs to my boyfriend. I have never been a fan of the corns, kings, and milk snakes because they are so skinny. I want a snake with a little size maybe a little bigger than my ball pythons but not much. I've read that blood pythons are too big as adults. I also want one that is easily handled.

Have you considered a Boa.... i really love mine. If you pick up a male it should get huge either...

+1 Dragon, I have a male boa and I love him to pieces. They are very different from balls so just make sure you do your homework, but they really are a great species. Another suggestion would be super dwarf retics. They stay small, and are VERY nice looking :)

Or One of Carpet Pythons or If you can afford Angolan Python :gj::gj::gj:

The SD Retics are nice, but they do have a slender body and not as much girth as a boa or blood (or Burmese as you know)

So boa's? Which breeds? Like I said something that doesn't get much bigger than the ball pythons would be perfect.

There are many dwarf boa's that you could get that don't get much bigger than 6 foot.... If I remember right the Nicaraguan boas stay pretty small.... Just look around and you will find something that you like....:D

No boa experience but i do have a blood and they are great as well. On average they are about the same length as a ball with any variation on the short side, but they are awesome snakes i def reccomend them!!!

I'll second this. I have a baby boa too and just adore her. The females of any variety will get bigger than the boys so if you stick with a male, you'll be a bit better off. The Nicaraguans do stay a bit smaller as do the Hog Islands. Either of those, the males should stay around 6ft.

As someone else said, if you do your homework, you'll do fine. Boas are really different from BPs and they 'feel' different in your hands too. I love handling Peaches. She is very curious when out and about. I love how they seem to enjoy handling and how they 'cling' to you more. Very interactive snakes. :gj:

Look into dwarf localities, my male colombian will be between 5-8 feet so I'd go with nicaraguan or hogg island maybe?
