Ambient Temps?

I have a question concerning ambient temps and the use of heat pads. The room I have my snakes in is what we call a florida room. It is all windows with a solid roof, It does not have heat nor airconditioning. The ambient temps in the room are mid to high 70s at night and high 80s to low 90s during the day. I had UTHs under all of the enclosures, but, the snakes were avoiding them during the day. My question is with ambient temps at these ranges, do I even need UTHs? I have them set up on a gang system so I can turn them all on or off with 1 switch.

Your daytime temps are high if they are in the 90's for the cold side of there tubs and nighttime shouldn't get below mid 70's.

I do have those kinds of temps over here too, including that kind of daily fluctuations. I have a heater on a thermostat at 80-85, so that at night it doesn't get below that, and in the day it wouldnt come on at all. It does lower humidity a little, but thankfully not by much, maybe 10-15% max. In the day since it doesnt come on, I don't have problems with humidity, and I get about 60+% humidity on average. So overall they get quite alot of humidity

As for the UTH i think youd still need a hotspot especially at night. Although not so much in the day, I'd still leave it on not only for convenience but also for them if they wish. After all its all the same if theyre on the same thermostat setting, they'd just be using much less power.

During the day, no. Actually, an ambient of 90 is too warm and may stress your snakes out (I recommend a daytime ambient in the low 80's). When it gets that warm, I would recommend bringing them inside an air-conditioned space or maybe putting a fan out in the room, if that's possible? During the night, not normally, but high 70's isn't warm enough for digestion, so be sure they have a basking area of at least 88 for at least two days after they eat.

As has been said, hooking the UTH's up to a thermostat is a great way to regulate temp fluctuations in the room; it will turn on the UTH's when the cage needs to be warmer and turn them off when the cage is warm enough.
