Pics of 1.1 Super Dwarf Retics
The video didn't clearly show them so I took a couple shots after they ate some hopper mice. Awesome snakes!

I'll keep updated on their progress. I'm going to feed them like my ball pythons :D Often.

Their eyes are something else. Always tracking and observing. Very interesting little snakes.

Personality wise, they are known to be extremely docile. The little male had some stuck shed and didn't mind me touching his head at all. They just follow your every movement. I was really expecting them to be little fire breathers after the long trip based on what I knew of Retics and the overall stress of the endevour but they were very chill. They ate 2 hours after getting unboxed. Even when I fed them they didn't mind me hovering a foot above them watching every little movement. I even lidded their tubs and put them in the QT rack and they didn't as much as flinch or move. For the pictures above they literally looked at me and then went back to resting. They are everything I've heard about true SD Retics. They are much more laid back than a mainland or even dwarf retic. That's one of the easiest ways to tell if they are true SD.
They keep about the same as ball pythons plus a little bit more humidity. The temps are the same range. I've heard they are prone to shed issues so it is very important to pay attention and keep humidity higher. They don't seem to prefer the hides at all but I'll keep them in there for the sake of having a secure area for them.
It is hard to find a lot of good info on the true SD. People get all uppity and argue a lot about them and what island they come from. I don't care about the rigorama. I wanted small, active, interesting snakes with docile personalities. These guys are a lot more interesting than balls out of the cage. They are very active. I have been interested in them for years but only recently saw a 66% crossed albino SD at the kids house where I picked up my Fire Mojave. She was an impressive, outgoing, even tempered snake that had all the cool retic traits with much less of the size. She was a lot bigger than these guys will get at 7+' or so. She is what sold me on some SD even though she was a cross herself. I figured if they were smaller than her and even more laid back I would be purchasing a pair. I searched a bit but didn't find a lot that was pure. I was close to getting some from a guy in Oregon but he was a little steep and didn't respond to a few emails after his initial sales pitch so I decided to wait. I ran across this ad from Evan Stahl and immediately emailed and called him. After a few conversations I was sold that these WERE the real deal. The parents of these two were two 5' females and the same 4+' male. At a year old he said they are about 2.5' long eating weekly. He expressed that they were very docile and that they weren't shy at all, even as new hatchlings. This pretty much confirmed what I was looking to hear so I decided to purchase a pair.
I appreciate the morphs they are crossing into these guys by breeding morph dwarfs with the SD but that just wasn't what I wanted. I have pretty paint jobs on my balls. Besides, I think their pattern is out of this world already. With retics their colors change frequently and they tend to get more amazing as they age. I was more concerned about size and personality. I think I found what I was looking for :)

The female was under 6' and they tend to be the larger of the sexes. The male was a little over 4'. Pretty awesome.
