What percentage of girls lay every year?

I dont mean who has a female that lays every year, but what percentage of your females that are of proper age and weight when paired with a good male will take and lay eggs? I will have between 6-10 females late this year, five of them are proven so I am just trying to see how many clutches I can realistically expect.

I have 9 normal females and only two are proven and one het pied that's proven all 3 proven have laid again this year and one virgin laid and waiting on atleast 2 more to lay soon so I guess it's up to who is ready again or not

I bred 4 females this season. One was proven, 2 were virgins and one was bred last year but didn't take. As of right now, the one unproven has laid, and the other two virgins are gravid. The one proven female did not take, but mostly due to the male. If I had paired her up with another male, I would likely have had 4 out of 4 lay for me this season. Of course last year, I bred 2 females (one proven and one virgin) and neither took. Next year I'm only breeding 2 female balls. We'll see how that goes next season.

I only have two virgin females and both of them laid for me this year. So I guess I'm batting at 100%.

There is really no way to say. Some years I get 90%, some years like this season, I only get about 40%. Some females will breed every year but a lot will only be every other season breeders.

With your females that don't take, do they copulate all season but never build follicles, or do they just refuse to copulate entirely?

Usually they will copulate like normal but never develop follicles.
