How long to hold out for?
So Cleo my pastel is a silly mouser she took rats 2 times then I went out of town and the girlfriend feed hera mouse instead of arat she was feeding our corns and not thinking I guess and now Cleo is strictly a mouser I can drop a rat in and no intrest for20 minutes then as soon as I try a mouse she strikes as soon as it hit ground........ Gurrrrrr and now at 900 ish grams shehas plateaued and wont gain more weight but is still eating. Which leads me to my question how long should I offer rats before I give in and give her a mouse which she will take everytime no matter what in blue outta blue dont matter?

So how long should I hold out for

Ahhh arent they picky...Ive had the same problem but now all my bps are ratters and glad they are. What i did was i kept offering a rat for up to 4 months. Not saying i didnt feed her anything in between but i kept working with her till she finally took a rat and now she pounds them without a problem. Try at first every 5 days at least for 3 weeks and weigh her and if she starts dropping weight then offer a mouse. One trick i tried was take a rat and put it in some mouse bedding. It worked sometimes but not always so itll get frustrating. One of my other bps did stay off feed for about 6 months and no matter what i did she wouldnt feed but eventually did so dont give up...Good luck.

I have an pastel female that's about 4 yrs old 700g, she was sold to me as a mouser 2 yrs ago, I've managed to get her on small asf's, then on rat crawlers. Haven't given her a mouse in a year and 1/2. she is a stubborn one lol. Patience & diligence is my advice to you, and maybe a 5 daay feed schedule :)
