    Epic battle!
I was out on my porch having a smoke and noticed a paper wasp walking under my father in laws motorcycle. As soon as I noticed it a little spider comes darting down off the motorcycle, bites the wasp and hooks a line onto it. It didn't kill the wasp outright, instead a battle ensued that went on for a good 10 minutes. Stingers flying everywhere while the spider tried as hard as it could to finish wrapping it up in silk. Ya see bugs and stuff in spider webs all the time, but how often do you get to watch nature in action, especially one where both are equally dangerous to each other.

you ever see a black widow vs. praying mantis fight?
whoooo-wee! my bf saw a praying mantis end up in a widow's web and he got to witness that. both bugs fought valiantly with both being injured in the process but the widow prevailed only because she "tied down" the mantis's front legs and then went around it to deliver her fatal bite.
i've seen a large spider release a bee from it's web after struggling to get a good bite on it without being stung but then give up to avoid injury to itself.

When I was living in South Carolina I saw a huge spider (locals called them Banana spiders) with a lizard in her web. It took a good 15 min but the spider won. Amazing creatures. Mother nature knows what she's doing! :)
