    anyone have trust issues?
Im leaving for a while and I cant take all 7 snakes with me Im only taking the babies with me so that means I have to leave them with the step family......there are 4 kids in that house........I really hate entrusting my "children" lol with other people..how do I know they will be fed and maintained the right humidity and temperature? I taped the dates they need to eat and humidity and temp on the sides of their tubs I made sure they were all cleaned this morning at 3 am lol they all ate yesterday except the reduced pattern girl she never eats when shes in shed I also wrote kids dont touch on the papers so Ive done what I can does anyone have these same problems?

Well honestly you will never know if things were done to your liking, you can only trust that your family will do as you ask. Hope all goes well and hope you come home to things as you left it. Just call once a day and while on the phone have the read the temps n stuff. Good luck :)

Can't board then at a vet? My wifes clinic has boarded reptiles before. The owner supplies the stuff and all is well.

How long are you going for? if it isn't too long you might be able to have someone come in and check and change water every few days and not worry about feeding if it is only a week or two.

I wouldn't have fed them just before leaving... I can't trust any sitter to clean appropriately (plus they might lose the snake!) so I cut feeding two weeks before a trip so no animal will dirty a cage when I'm gone. Aside from water there shouldn't really be anything a sitter needs to do. With so many people in the house I would want as little contact with the snakes as possible so there's less of a chance for problems to occur. How long are you gone for?

I am very lucky with this... My mom just loves my snakes. She usually stays at my house to watch the dogs and my collection....She is worse than me when it comes to keeping my tubs clean. She has taken the time to learn how I feed and has never had a problem doing it for me. My only problem is making sure she doesn't sneak one into her purse before she leaves....lol

Thats just awesome (or not:P). My mother's would look after them but after much pleading and groveling.

I'm not sure how long you'll be gone. If it's only a couple weeks then I would think it less stressful to leave them and have someone over to check on them. On a long trip I don't know what I'd do... There is no reptile hotel or vet stay here. Good luck to you and your snakies.

Did you breed her, or did the seller breed her and think she wasn't going to go? Surprise clowns would be awesome!
