Snakes/Lizards Exhibit at CA Academy (PICS)
Today my mother & I went to the California Academy of Sciences (San Francisco) to view the new snakes/lizards exhibit... I actually have more snakes at my house, but I did get to see some cool critters! I certainly don't have a Gabon Viper, for example, so at least there was some novelty to it. Definitely worth checking out if you live nearby, but not worth driving a long distance or anything.
Here are some, okay LOTS of photos! I don't remember all the species' names, but I'll identify what I do remember - feel free to fill in the blanks, if you know the ones I'm missing.
This is the actual animatronic snake from "Anaconda"

The best pic I could get of "Lemondrop," the albino Retic (I think he's a permanent fixture at the museum)

I am going to be in town next weekend, and I plan to go take a look, but I never expect much from exhibits like these, unless they specialize in it.
Looks like a good time, though! Thanks for sharing.
Wonder if we were all there at the same time? Funny coincidence! If you find yourself in the South Bay next weekend, feel free to drop me a line... it's always fun to meet a fellow BP.netter. :)
Btw, I actually tried to find you at the San Diego show last summer, since I heard you'd be there. I asked a few people if they knew you, and unfortunately didn't have any luck.

Will do! I was there, but not vending... I was walking around alot, it tends to be hard to pin me down when there are 1000 other people walking around as well. Sorry we missed each other! I'll be there this San Diego show on Saturday, walking around. Should be a good time! Maybe see you there this time?

Took the kids to the CA Academy last summer and was disgusted to see them keeping a woma, a blackhead and a JCP together in a very small circular cage.
Not cool........all three animals were obviously stressed by the lack of space and were having a heck of a time figuring out their cylindrical enclosure.
