    half sleeve tattoos
I'm planning to get a half sleeve tattoo for my 40th birthday coming up.
Anyone got advice or have tales of regret over getting something so conspicuous? I have other tattoos but nothing so obvious. I'll not be able to wear short sleeves at work ever again but I think I'm ok with that

    give me your stories!

I say, if you really want it, do it!! Get something you really like and you won't have any regrets.

I have both of my shoulders covered and most of my legs.... I chose to keep them high enough that they can be covered with a short sleeved shirt. I don't care for long sleeves all the time, and I know that there is a time and place for everything. It you have thought about it though and it is what you want go for it.....:D

My entire left arm is covered with a vine going from my knuckles to my shoulder. A dragon inside my forearm, a spider, and praying mantis on my upper arm.

Where I work, no one cares, but I was very conscious of it the first year I had it. I always wear short sleeves. After awhile it just became a part of my arm and I stopped noticing it or worrying about other people noticing it. I forget it's even there unless someone asks about it.

It isn't a sleeve by far since it isn't full coverage but I love it. I got it because I wanted something going up my arm but something a bit more feminine than a full sleeve.

If it's what you want, you won't regret it :)

-This is the dragon that my dragon was based off of. We changed it a little but it was pretty much exactly the type of dragon I was looking for to fit my scene.

    nice!
I like the use of negative space as well - don't want to get something that's too busy or solid color or anything.

Exactly. That's why I had the vine done in black with only a few random green leaves for color. The spider, mantis, and dragon in color so they'd stand out. I only plan to add a moth or dragonfly now.
