    Our Black Boa
    Hello together,

I’d like to introduce in this thread our Black Boa.

In the past my friend bought an imported pair of Costa Rican boas. This pair we bred together and in the year 1998 there was a black baby with abnormal patterns in the litter. This black baby was a female and we hold this girl to check later the genetic of this mutation.

Two years later the Costa Rican pair had one more litter and also in this litter was a black baby (wow)! We had luck because the black baby was a male .

In the year 2004 we bred these two black boas together and the whole litter was black :D .

We gave this new recessive mutation the name “Black Boa”.

I had never considered keeping a Boa, but if I were able to find one of those I certainly would buy one! Those are just incredible! Congratulations on proving those Black Boas out.

Would those happen to be the Costa Rican version of the Leopard boa? They all look extremely similar besides the baby in the last picture. Congrats on proving it out that's awesome!
