Mojave girls and prices

Hey all. I'm wanting to get a mojave female, probably yearling, and was wondering what price I should expect to pay. I've been looking on kingsnake and the prices are all over the place. some for $375, some for $850, and they are about the same size and quality. I just don't understand it. I know that there are different lines and genetic histories too them, but I get the feeling that a lot of people are just too proud of their animals. Any advice you can give me is appreciated.

If you are looking at older females and ones that have size on them expect to pay more. For older females closer to breeding size expect to pay about 1.00 per gram. If you can pick up a yearling female that is 800-1000 grams for 375 I would be all over that as long as it was a healthy animal and verified to be a female!

Yeah we were looking for a long time for a Mojave female that had some size to her. They are not easy and not cheap. We got lucky at a reptile show and had to talk a guy into selling his. We got lucky a 650 gram female for $500. They are extremely hard to find and not cheap. I would check out reptile shows and yes if you can find one for 375 with that weight jump all over it as long as she is healthy and she is a she. Good luck Hunting.

I just (last night) picked up a shy Mojave girl she is 780 gms for 300$ :D:D I have to change her hides later today I'll take a quick pic of her then I don't want to mess with her too much (at all)

I really regretted not keeping all three mojave females I produced last year. Someday I hope to get a mystic or GHI male and make mystic potions or mojave GHI. To me combos like those make mojave females very valuable. My chocolate mojave girl isn't bad either. Sure hope I produce some more mojave girls this year and if so I’ll hold back more.

Having breeder female morphs in a collection is a must if you are going to keep moving forward. I let go of a couple of mojo females this past year but only because I had adults and produced a super female.

To me Co-dom females are priceless if I don't have any, Like enchi's Got a male and an enchi combo but I need some girls so no females are leaving this camp this year. :D

I paid 150 for my girl, but I'm good friends with a local breeder and I have also bought a lot of snakes from him. For the most part your probably going to pay in the $300-400 range for a young one. I have not even seen any girls for sale at my local show in over 6-8 months.

I paid $250 for a 240g 2010 at the end of April. She's a bit shy but eats everytime and looks great. She's nothing super fancy but she's a perfect example of her morph. I now have two mojave females because I added a Fire Mojave a few weeks ago. I love pastel yellow belly mojaves so I can't wait to see what fire adds to that. I think they are invaluable in any collection and the only reason we see the low prices we do sometimes is that the supply surged the past few years with the popularity of white snakes. We're seeing the exact same thing with Pieds now IMO.

I am SpottedBoa's wife and we looked everywhere for a female Mojave. Most of the local vendors just laughed when we told them what we were looking for. Males are easy to come by but not females. We only got the deal we did because the vendor was having a problem with getting his feeders big enough for all the large snakes he currently had. They just weren't breeding fast enough so he brought several larger snakes to sell off at the show.

I also believe mojave females are priceless. My mojave is such a great example we may not sell any females she produces. She looks like a pastave or even a lesser because she's so yellow. I paid $350 for her at about 120 grams. She was well worth it, too! Good luck in your search and remember, you buy quality. :gj:
