Keeping Accurite in place

My snakes are constantly knocking over the accurites in their tubs. Just wanted to know what other people did if anything to keep them in place.Also, I bury the
wire probe but worry about them getting tangled in it.(they always move the substrate around).

when my snake was in a tank he put the wire underneath the substrate and he never got tangled in it and i would take the bedding and put it against the accurite to hold it in place...now that i moved him in a tub i soldered two hold on each side of the accurite and used zip ties to hold it in place

Bought Velcro strips. Attached 3 of them to the tank, and the other 3 to the the accurite. It hangs in the top right corner, out of view. It fully supports his weight. Never fallen once.

Be sure you hot glue the wires, and not tape them.

huh never thought of Velcro....think i am going to switch now

Do you mean the probe itself? cause i just stuck it down, it comes with that stickey tab on it

No not the probe, the big display that shows you the temps. Some people put it at ground level, but I have no room, so I hang it with velcro strips.

Theres nothing you can't do with velcro lol

I tape the probe down. I've.never had any issues with.the snakes.getting into the tape. As for the accurate I velcro it. It works good

I wouldn't risk tape, but I do use it because my ball would never get to it. My probes have plastic on top of them to ensure they dont get wet, then a huge layer of a sheet of newspaper over everything including taped wires, then my thin layer of aspen substrate. On the hotspot itself theres almost no aspen though since they keep pushing it aside. They just love to even though its like, 92F.
