Anyone See Swamp Wars Last Night?
It's a brand new show about the Miami Venom 1 Unit.

It was mostly good. They talked about how despite the common belief that the Burmese problem was caused but people letting their pets go that most of the snakes came from a breeding facility that was destroyed during hurricane Andrew.

Apparently Tegus are now running around down there now. This really ballsy lady caught 2 of them on her own.

What I didn't like was some shots of Ball Pythons when they were talking about Burmese. They had one shot lined up from the ground with a BP periscoping up and looking at some out of focus people some distance away.

There was a bit a scare tactics but it was a bit balanced with the actual facts. For instance they brought up the story of the 2 year old that got killed by an escaped burmese but it was mentioned that it was kept in improper caging and wasn't being fed correctly. Basically they put the blame on the people instead of the snake.

So overall, the first episode wasn't bad and was fairly balanced in viewpoints. I'll be cathing the next show and see how it goes.

    Cool,

It would be a refreshing change to see a show that actually tried to show the proper perspective for once.

Hopefully they keep it up and it gets show this side of the pond. :please:

I tivo'd it. Was entertaining. I was especially impressed with the female firefighter catching a 8-9 foot burm who had no real experience with snakes. I was very impressed!

Overall well done...although I too made comments how all these shows seem to show burms, balls and even RTBs when talking about burms.

I was surpised with the pit viper? Where the heck did that come from?

    I think i want that job ;)

I enjoyed it as well. Agreed with a couple of the BP shots seemingly supposed to be a Burm. hahaha. I yelled at the TV only a couple of times :)

I think (hopefully) this will be added as another fav TV show to my already Fav, Python Hunters. Now THAT is the best show on TV for sure. Educational, Funny, and AWESOME.
