    My cat's new defense mechanism...
Today was my cat's bath day. Our apartment complex has a slight flea issue. Nothing too serious, but bothersome enough to give the dog and cat weekly baths in the spring/summer. He knew it was coming and started howling at me as soon as I walked into the bathroom. Realizing that his claws were unable to reach my bare flesh, and his teeth were in the same predicament, he took a different approach...

..He urinated on me. I wasn't near the bathtub and I felt something warm and wet on my lap. I look down and my shorts are wet. I started laughing, and after his bath, told the family. They, of course, found it absolutely hilarious.

I have to wear multiple layers when bathing him. He doesn't mind water if its on his terms. My terms? He turns into a screaming furry whirlwind of pain and blood.

haha yeah... [reminesces on kitty bath days]

i had to bath a cat i'd rescued as a kitten when his mom turned him away after seeing me with my hands on him.
poor kitty was covered in fleas and thats what i could see easily with his long thick fur. oh it was just downright nasty how many fleas actually washed out from inside his fur!
[ugh] gives me the willies to remember that but oh my goodness that little guy felt SO MUCH BETTER once he realized we'd gotten rid of those little nasty buggies crawling all over him.
doesnt mean he didnt put up one heck of a fight in the process though.
i still bear the scars on my hands and forearms from that battle .
