A Little Update(pic heavy)

This is just a thread to see if I'm filling the cage up appropriately.

I bought an Animal Plastics 48'' long 24'' deep 12'' high cage. It was their quick shippers cage. Believe it was T10 or something.

I know it is a BIG ass cage for a baby BP, that's what I plan on buying come the St. Louis Reptile Expo, but I bought a bunch of stuff to fill the cage with. I just want to see if anyone else has any other suggestions for filling the cage after you see the pictures of the stuff I bought. I'm also not done buying stuff yet. When I go to the St. Louis Reptile Expo I'm planning on not only buying my first BP but also some other things to fill the cage with.

well, yeah, that is a big cage for a baby. So be cautious of any insecurities that might arise. If it doesn't feed after a normal adjustment period, use something smaller. Most of that stuff looks good.
Keep in mind, the more stuff your tank has, the more you will need to clean. I recommend starting out with a less packed tank so you can get into the rhythm of tank maintenance before you bite off more than you can chew.
A more important concern is the how you will keep your tank at the right temperatures. With that you have either belly heat or radiant heat to choose from. Different opinions abound...
Honestly, I don't know of any snake kept with 5 hides. It's not wrong but is really overkill. Your snake will probably have a few favorites and ignore the others ,

I bought so much to fill it. So it's more secure with the enclosure. Once it gets older I'll take out the less used hides and keep his/her favorites. I know there will be lots of cleaning when it comes to how much stuff is in the cage, but Im fine with it. Honestly I'd much rather do that than play video games all freakin' day which is what Im doing now because Im bored whenever Im not at work or writing/recording music. Currently I'm in a writing slump so I've been playing video games a lot more than I usually do and it's driving me nuts.

Thanks for the tip though. I do plan on buying a sterilite tub from Walmart and a sodoring gun just in case my BP doesn't feel secure enough.

Edit: I did order a heat mat like 2 weeks ago from RBI but just incase that doesn't come in I also ordered one from Animal Plastics when I bought my cage.

Also, I'd suggest watching out for your ball python's size and ability to fit through the hole of that dark snake cave hide. The 2 piece one with the hole in the top right beside your bag of substrate in the first picture. I think its an awesome hide yes, I'm using an exoterra version of it for my 250g guy too, but the moment the hole gets fitting for him, I'd remove it. They're known to be deathtraps as balls too big for it get stuck half way, I read an article on it and freaked out so yeah being very careful just note down the space he has left whenever he crawls in and out of it. And depending on the growth rate of your ball, it could be pretty soon. Some gain a few hundred grams in merely a few months.

Looks like you are off to getting on a good start.
Just remember to leave him/her alone for at least a week or so to give "it" time to settle in.
