    Urates, No poop!
Well Hawthorn finally shed for his first time with me annnd finally pooped... sorta. Hes had 4 large meals with me since i got him a little better than a month ago and all he had to offer was two large chunks of urates. He seems to be empty now as he has shrunk considerably after going and I was just wondering if maybe being malnourished in the past has caused him to absorb most of his meals and leave nothing but urates and fluid. I'm really enjoying him, being my first bp, I have 4 other snakes but he's definitely a new experience for me. Thanks for the info!

Nothing to worry about. If it is another month or two then you might try a warm soak. You might also see a deuce shortly. A lot of mine seem to pass urates and then within a day or two... viola, a number two.

    Regards,

It is perfectly normal for this to happen. My male normal stopped eating for a little while and has not pooped for a verylong time.

Clean his cage, and then he'll probably go. Seems to never fail with me. And, be prepared because they are stinky!!

Thanks for your replies, I'm never sure what to think with him... My corn, king, and hybrids all poop like clockwork so I like to worry about this guy. Soon I hope to know him as well as my others :)

One of my guys poops like clockwork, the other is very irregular, but it always comes eventually. I don't even notice the odor, but I have worked with otters, primates and big cats so... it's all relative I guess.:D

Axel had his first big poo with me a couple days ago. It certainly wasn't pleasant, but it smelled like roses compared to my dogs and cats! :P
