Lube for probing question.

Hey everyone ive got a quick question, my friend has recently taught me to prob ball pythons. He showed me how on his large female and male, he used vasoline but he said that i could use that or a water based lubricant if i i dont have any. I went to Shoppers to look for some vasoline, i found a tub then a white coat walked up n asked me questions. I told her about the water based as well, she gave me a bottle of H2O water based lubricant.
Its contents are as followed : propyl paraben, methyl paraben, sodium carboxy, methyl cellulose gylcerine, and purified water.
Is that ok to use on my snakes or should i ride my bike back to the shoppers n get actual vasoline or a better produce u recomend. :) thanks everyone.

I don't know much about probing snakes but I don want to learn. From what I understand Vaseline is the most used and might be the safest. But some of the breeders here will know more.

I'd use vaseline just to be safe.;)

Was it like KY? Because you can use that too.

Any water based personal lubricant is safe.

Its JO H2O, its personal lube im guessing cause it talks about condoms on the back lol.

I use plain neosporin or bacitracin to nix any possibility of infection from sticking something inside them.

Bacitracin is definitely a good ointment to keep around the house. So many uses.

Oh I know. I only use bacitracin as my household topical antibiotic. For reptiles it's good for everything from stuck eye caps or minor rodent bites to lube for the probes and inflamed vents on breeding males.. Of course I never feed live beyond a 4 week old pre wean anymore but over the years I've had a couple snakes get bitten.

Also if your kid gets pink eye, a dab of bacitracin in the inside corner of each eye before bed, every night, works better than the prescription drops the Dr gives you! Doesn't burn like the drops, and the pink eye infection is gone in a day or 2.

It's great stuff to have around and is gentle enough for everything.
